Faggot what are you going to do with NASA makes Pluto a planet again?

idrawboobs:

That language is unwelcome. Don’t do it around here ever again.

I would begrudgingly accept it, when a council of experts given the authority by the scientific community they were drawn from makes a decision, then that decision is the scientific truth until new discoveries make a council given the same authority by that scientific community change the decision. That is how science works. The people who know it best get to define that shit and we just learn how its changed.

Then I would tweet to NASA that I am hurt by their bending to the childish bleating of a vocal minority isolated to countries where Disney has a large influence on the media. And ask for a full detailed explanation as to why the useful current definition was abandoned.

Finally, I would write a letter by hand and mail it to them demanding that Ceres, Eris and Makemake also classed as planets. As they are at this moment more planet like than Pluto is. Sentiment has no place in science and if you’re going to shift a definition then everything that falls into that new definition must be included.

such a needed campaign. i wish they’d have included native americans as well, though, as cultural appropriation of them in costumes is just as awfully common.

It’s that time of year again when these go around. And I will keep reblogging them. And if I see the joke ones I am likely to rip them apart with prejudice.

I will reblog this every year and unfollow anyone who posts joke fandom spinoffs of this very serious and important commentary.
